My 38 year old sister, Leslie, was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer. I didn’t know why my sister with a 2 year old and a 7 year old would be leaving us, but I did know that I could trust God that, as a believer in Jesus Christ, Leslie was going to be with Him since He’d just taken me through a personal battle with OCD, Obsessive, Compulsive, Disorder. |

I’ve heard that everyone has a story. I believe this is true. This is our story. We were living in Atlanta, GA at the time, fully engaged in the hustle and bustle of commuting to and from work, allowing very little time for much of anything else but working long hours during the week and playing catch up on the ‘housework’ on the weekends. At some point it became painfully clear to my husband and I that we weren’t enjoying any true quality of life and that a drastic change was essential. |

Sure, God cared about my life, though many times I wanted to take it. The 1st time was as a college junior. I was so desperate that I nearly swallowed an entire bottle of my first prescription of antidepressants. Something stopped me.

While on a vacation in Colorado, my family climbed Mt. Herman. That left me sore. As I rubbed my pec muscles, I felt a lump. I almost ignored it (as did my GYN). I was only 32 with a 2 year old son when I was diagnosed with cancer for the first time. |
