Sometimes life is overwhelming – sickness, death, divorce, mental anguish,  … We have been through life’s tough times too and know you need something to help get you through.

Hangin’ on Faith is here to provide hope and encouragement during those times. We are reaching out to help in various ways.  On this website are stories from real people who may have gone through similar situations. Sometimes reading about how someone else has prevailed will give you the strength and encouragement to make it through too. Read our stories to gain hope for yourself or share with another.  Most storytellers are even available for contact for more personal help and sharing.

Knowing there is a way to make it through a difficult time may provide a ray of hope...

Kenyan Missionary

By Pastor Wycliffe, Kenya

I am boldly to testify that God send forth his beloved son, Jesus to save mankind, sinners. The Bible put it clearly that those who received him, He made them right to become children of God through believing his name. God showed us his agape love towards our life not to perish but to have everlasting life

Generally I have undergone down casted life and life of sickness for a long period of time. I was suffering from headache and stomach problems. My father tried up what he can to get me healed but all in all it was in vain. I travelled to diviners and even took herbs to be used as medicine to cure the diseases but it couldn't work.

I remember well after finishing my education in high I spend two years at home because of lack of funds but then my father sold some cattle to admit me in the college in Nairobi where I stayed for two years while pursuing the course.

It happen one day in the evening while I was coming from the college then I pass by a place where there was a crusade in a market place and something told me in my mind do not pass this place without hearing these message. So I stood over there listen from the preacher. The subject was deliverance.

After preaching, pastor read the book of Luke 1:37 and Mathew 11:28. Then he make order call for people to be prayed for and suddenly I heard the voice telling me that this is your day to be delivered and healed.

Hangin' on Faith Goes Global

A little over a year ago Hangin' on Faith Ministries set out to do what we could to provide hope and encouragement for people that were struggling. What started out as a local mission now reaches around the world.

Last fall an article in the local newspaper highlighted Kathy Wood's story and her founding of Hangin' on Faith. The nature of newspaper syndication repeated the story from coast-to-coast. People as far away as Hawaii contacted the ministry to learn more. Also, monthly newsletters go out regularly to an email list highlighting a new story that has been collected on the website. New people are added to the email distribution each month.

The website was launched in September of 2008 and immediately began to receive hits from people all over the world. In the past year over 100,000 hits have been recorded on the website with an average of about 300 unique visitors each month. The people visiting the website come from many places with the top countries being India, Canada, Germany, Romania , Great Britain, Australia, Japan, Denmark, and the United States.

Our website has been discovered by several groups of people and ministries who have contacted us directly from countries that include Pakistan, India, and Kenya. Some are in desperate need of help and welcome our prayers and stories that provide encouragement. Many are struggling to spread the Good News of Christ in places where they are persecuted because of their faith. See this month's featured story that comes from a Pastor in Kenya.

With this worldly perspective, discussions of converting the website to multiple languages have been held so that we could reach even more people. However, working part time on this ministry while meeting life's other challenges, and existing on contributions and donations makes the work hard to accomplish some times. God takes what we give and multiplies it to meet needs we can't even fathom. Encouragement can come from very unexpected people and places some days. With more volunteers and funding we could do even more in the coming year. (You can even work from home - wherever that may be!)

We are embarking on a new area of ministry in the coming weeks. We will be conducting a pilot of our new workshop, "Sharing Your Faith Story." Many people think they have no story to tell but in reality probably have many stories they could share. This workshop will help people learn to articulate their story and when to tell it. If you would like to share your faith story, visit our website and input it on the "Share your Story" page. Or if you are interested in attending a workshop, send us an email.
We would love to hear from you as we look to the coming year and ask that you'll pray this verse for us:

"Trust in the Lord God with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding and He will direct your path" Proverbs 3:5

Vice President, Hangin' on Faith Ministries.
