Sometimes reading about how someone else has prevailed will give you the strength and encouragement to make it through too. Read our stories to gain hope for yourself or share with another.  Most storytellers are even available for contact for more personal help and sharing.

Featured Story - Dan's Heart Attack
By Dan, Raleigh NC

Life was good. We had recently celebrated the wedding of our daughter in a beautiful outdoor autumn setting. What a fun day with friends and family ending as we watched our new son-in-law and daughter ride away in a 1937 Rolls Royce, leaving for a Caribbean honeymoon and a new life together.

Now, six weeks later, we had driven five hours to visit them for the first time since they married. We had a wonderful dinner with them and his parents at the parents' home. After dinner, while sitting in the living room talking, I began feeling what I initially thought was indigestion; but as it continued, I realized it was too high for indigestion. EASTER SUNRISE

My name is Lazarus and this is my story.

Perhaps you know me, and my sisters Mary and Martha, from John's account of the life of Jesus. There is a day, always remembered, when our friend called me out of a dark, smelly cave and brought me back to life. But that day, as special as it seemed, did not mark the beginning of new life for me. The day that marks the start of my new life is that day, that amazing day, when the good news came to our house.

The good news took a little time to believe. At first, we felt defeated, that darkness had won when Jesus was executed on a symbol of shame, a cross. But then, the only truth there is breathed, stood, and spoke in front of many people and the darkness was forever driven away. A new, different, and best life began for me that day.

It can be the same for you. The day you become an answer to Nicodemus' question in the third chapter of John's account: How can a person be born a second time? Yes, the day Jesus called me out of a dark tomb was something. But, nothing compares to that amazing day when Jesus called me from darkness into new life. What about you?
